Bon Jovi Performs Surprise Nashville Set Despite Vocal Damage

Jon Bon Jovi has struggled recently. The Bon Jovi singer had surgery to repair a vocal chord in 2022, but it hasn’t recovered in time to tour for Forever. Bon Jovi still performs sometimes. Bon Jovi surprised guests at the grand opening of his Nashville rooftop bar and restaurant, JBJ’s, on Friday. Friday also brought Forever. Despite his health concerns, the artist sang five songs, surprising everyone.

Luckily, the musician says he is “more than capable of singing again.” He cannot physically perform roughly three hours a night, numerous times a week, as a tour would entail. His Nashville set was great, although his voice was “pitchy”. I liked seeing the “Livin’ On A Prayer” singer perform on a tiny stage for once. The crowd sung along to “Blood On Blood”, “We Weren’t Born To Follow”, “You Give Love A Bad Name”, “Born To Be My Baby”, and “Legendary”. “It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been up on a stage with some people in the house,” Bon Jovi stated mid-set. “Far too lengthy. It feels fantastic. I hope it sounds nice because it feels fantastic.”

Jon Bon Jovi’s Vocal Chord Issues and Surgery
Jon Bon Jovi had vocal cord medialization in 2022. He called it a vocal cord “facelift”. The treatment repaired a singer’s vocal chord. “It’s a work in progress,” the singer told The Guardian. There’s no miracle. Want a f***ing light switch.”
